John Brookes is the Area Manager and owner of both the Edstart Warrington and St Helens franchises. A fully qualified teacher of Physical Education, John brings over 20 years of experience and a deep well of knowledge to his role. Throughout his career, he has taught across all age groups—from EYFS to A-Level—and has extensive experience working with SEND pupils.
John is passionate about making PE a core part of the curriculum, believing it should be valued as highly as maths, English, and science—if not more. He ensures his team consistently delivers high-quality, engaging sessions that inspire children to be active, challenged, and successful in a fun and inclusive environment.
John works closely with a dedicated team of coaches, each of whom he sees as a valuable part of his team. He is committed to their ongoing development, always looking for ways to enhance their skills and raise the standard of delivery across all programmes.
Always thinking of new ways to engage young people in physical activity, John is dedicated to promoting movement and sport as a way to improve not only physical health, but also mental and social well-being. A lifelong rugby league player, he has been involved in the sport since the age of nine and continues to draw on that experience to inspire the next generation.
